BASIC EDUCATION AND LITERACY
TRASH BIN DISTRIBUTION
President Lilit with the support of PAG Emma Tan, PE Jaye Cuevas, Dr. La Verne Alvarez, Aleli Ramirez, Mhira Dayrit, Cachor Reyes and our partner, Tactical Operations Group - Cagayan de Oro Philippines Air Force (TOG 10) distributed trash bins to 5 school recipients namely: Kamakawan Elementary School, Puntod National High School, Lapasan Elementary School, North City Central School and Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School.
ANG PAGLAYA: THE MUSICAL
The Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro sponsored 100 underprivileged students from City High School and Igpit Elementary School to watch “Ang Paglaya: The Musical” at Rodelsa Hall. This is an Original Filipino Musical Play written and directed by Maia Fortich-Poblete. The story revolves around complicated family relationships, being able to pursue your passion, and new-found friendships that can be one's source of healing and hope. This showcased a lot of our Kagay-anon talents.

This musical is presented by 7HS Media Productions and Oro Teatro Bulawanon in partnership with our club, Liceo de Cagayan Alumni Association, and Rotaract Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro.
PAG-AMUMA SA BATANG INAHAN
We launched "Pag-amuma sa Batang Inahan" in partnership with Brgy Gusa, SK Officials of Gusa and DSWD-10. This dialogue aimed to guide young mothers on the health risks of early pregnancy, parenting tips for young parents and share ideas on how to move forward meaningfully and productively. The following topics were discussed: Health Risks for Teenage Pregnancies, Parenting Tips for Young Mothers, Good Nutrition for Nursing Moms and Infants and Intervention Programs from the DSWD. This was held in Gusa Elementary School Covered Court last September 18, 2022.

It was indeed a meaningful and productive Sunday for everyone. We catered to 34 adolescent mothers, the youngest of them is aged 14. Every mom participant received grocery packs, toiletries and vitamins.

We would like to thank Dr Ardel Padayhag for being our resource speaker along with Dr. Cañete of DSWD.
To make this project more impactful, we have to sustain it with further interventions.
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY AND GIFT GIVING
AT CAMANSI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Rotary Club of Kalayaan CDO together with Rotaract Club of Kalayaan CDO held its Annual Christmas Party and Gift Giving with the students of Camansi Elementary School last December 15, 2022. Rotarians pooled together their resources to give Christmas gifts to 130 students. To bring more Christmas cheer, the Kalayaans invited a balloon twister to entertain the learners. Food was then served after the gift giving.
